Resources for Undergraduate Research

Sara Reardon at St. Louis Area Research Symposium

A number of resources exist to help faculty and students establish undergraduate research projects, publicize research results, find discipline-specific research funding for undergraduates, and link undergraduate researchers with graduate programs.

The University Honors Program offers the option of a research project culminating in a thesis. The program's Office of Major Scholarship Advisement lists many local resources for prospective researchers and scholars. Another local resource is SPEAR: Students Promoting Education and Research. This SIUC student organization stimulates interest in undergraduate research and graduate studies and offers activities to help undergraduates prepare for graduate school.
